While I was waiting for a working Windows Version of Absinthe, I ran the CLI released by the Dev Team....It was a bit of a PITA...


Just a quick word on the CLI release, and we will go right into the Absinthe Jailbreak....


Special thanks to my friend Dan for helping me figure out the command line syntax.


I won't bother to give you the tuorial, but I will give you the links....now that GreenPois0n Absinthe for Windows has been released, I'd rather not frustrate you with Command Line Interface jargon.....But if you insist:

Today, YourSn0w's blog, if the Thai language was properly translated by Chrome, says A5 jailbreak may come in two days. 4S users that rely on a carrier unlock should stay at 5.0. The untethered A5 Jailbreak will cover both 5.0 and 5.0.1--if nothing was lost in translation.

10,000 Hitst!!!

Awesome!!!  The blog hit 10,000 hits today, sixteen days past my one year target, but got there none the less!!!!


Thank you to all my readers!!!!


Ok, I know, you're asking what I got out of it? Well, I didn't even get a lousy T-Shirt.


What I really got out of this was more enthusiasm to continue to blog about technology, politics, and heart felt subjects.  It's pretty cool to know that people actually give a crap about what I'm blogging,  doing, or what I have to say.


10,000 hits is not a huge mile stone by modern standards in the blogashpere, but I'm proud of it.


New goal? 20,000 hits for 2012 before the end of the world as we know it!!!

Nerd Alert: Cydia App hints at A5 Jailbreak...

Hot news for Jailbreakers anxiously awaiting the A5 jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The extremely popular tweak, 3 Unrestrictor notes compatibility with iPhone 4S and iPad 2......this surely means we could be a few days or hours away from the 5.0.1 Untethered A5 device JailBreak release......

AirPlay Audio from your iPhone, iPad, iPod to PC

Finally!!!  I found a solution to AirPlay Audio, Photos, and Videos to your PC. Click here to read the post.


Want to jam sound and music from your favorite apps on your  iDevice to your Windows PC speakers?  Don't have Apple TV? If you answered yes to either of those questions, this post is for you.

BTW, no solution for the AirPlay of video to PC yet...iOS 5 killed the Windows Media Center AirPlay plug in......


NO JAILBREAK REQUIRED

It took all of a minute, and I am now able to AirPlay audio from Youtube, Pandora, Vevo, Video app, etc, right to my PC speakers.  The louder the better \m/.  In fact, I'm rocking some Rasta right now via Pandora's Buju Banton channel.

This is a simple one.

Launch Shairport4W, configure, tap the AirPlay icon on in your App, Done.  It's that easy....

And that's how Bruce T rocks Rasta from an iPhone to PC speakers.

Re-calibrate Home Button on iDevices, IT WORKS!!

I've been waiting to try and prove this out, it works.  I performed this procedure last night on an iPhone 4.  I am assuming it works on all devices.


Symptom: in laymen terms, home button performance and response was JACKED UP.

1.) Open a STOCK iOS application like the native Stocks app.

2.) Press and HOLD the power button until the "slide to power off" swipe bar appears.

3.) Release Power button

4.) Press and hold HOME button LIGHTLY until the home screen returns. [lightly folks, you don't have to jam it to the back of the device]

It may take a couple of tries, but once you have the timing down, IT WORKS.

Is this a hint? I'm betting on a weekend release.....

Update your devices to 5.0.1 while you can, recent tweets state that the current exploit is patched in 5.1 beta 3....

Wait for it....Wait for it...4S & iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak

Moments ago, super dev pod2g posted that the dev dream team has broken the sandbox on A5 devices, otherwise known as the iPhone 4s and iPad 2....this jailbreak also promises to bring Siri to all iDevices!!! Awesome!!


There is nothing holding back the release now....any day.... Update your device, Apple will plug this exploit quick.

Remember, if you rely on a carrier unlock, DO NOT UPDATE YOUR DEVICE.  


iOS 5.1 Beta 2 was seeded to developers on December 12th and release is surely eminent.  We are expecting 5.0.1 to be short lived.  As @p0sixninja tweeted, it's time to update your devices...do this at your discretion and you will loose your current jabilbreak for a short time.  I did update my iPad 2 last night....what a task.....update when you feel ready, remember, Apple can spring a release at a moments notice and you will be SOL.


When you are ready to update, remember my laws of Jailbreaking, in this order:

1. Transfer purchases & backup your iDevice in iTunes. Do  both of these by right clicking your iDevice name in iTunes and selecting these options.

2. If currently Jailbroken, back up your Cydia apps using PKGBackup or some other reliable utility. I recommend using the Dropbox feature along with PKGBackup.  Get your free DROP BOX ACCOUNT HERE

3. Don't skip rules 1 & 2

4. Now update to the current the firmware.

5. After updating to the latest firmware, iTunes will restore your settings, apps and music.
6. Now wait for the Jailbreak to be released.
